SweetTalk event in Belfast

I’m very very honoured to tell you that I’ll be making my way over to Belfast in July to take part an exhibition and presentation which is part of the big Trans 08 creative festival in Ireland!

I’ll be contributing work alongside the rest of the Xyn family and more, aswell as hitting the venue up with some Live Art for the launch of the show!

Then, once that’s done, I’ll be presenting a ‘SweetTalk’ talk / presentation of my own, inside the studio! I’m honoured to be part of this, especially sharing a line-up with the one & only Ben Drury!

sweettalk

The ‘Waterfront’ is the venue for both the exhibition & the sweettalk, so as you can see, it looks pretty swanky, I’m really looking forward to it!

Saturday 26th July is the day, so pop that in your diaries and keep your eyes on googonpaper.org & candycollective.com for more info!

Droplet vinyl toy launch, this Friday!

So my friends, this is it, the big day is nearly here... pictured below is the shipment of Droplets, which is now safe and sound at Go Go Plastic, ready for the launch on Friday!

There's been just 128 droplets produced especially for the launch night, and they're going to be the only ones available in the whole wide world for at least a month (with all the other stores around the world receiving their shipments in June)

dropletlaunchfriday

So you'll have to come on down to the launch to get your hands on one!

I'm going to number all 128 boxes by hand, so hopefully that makes them a little extra special for the folk getting their hands on them!

That's all from me, check the info below for all the details or check out:

Nottingham Xynthetic Show

Myself and everyone at Xynthetic are busy preparing for the 2nd show of the Carbon & Chemicals Mini Arts tour which is taking place at The Art Organization (literally opposite the train station) in Nottingham on Friday 21st March (Good Friday)

carbonchemicals

The space is huge so we're all working hard to create new work to add to what we've already done, so you'll have to come along to check that out, not to mention we'll have DJing provided by the one & only 209°, goodie bags to give away and a bit of live art too!

As if that isn't enough, we've got an
official after party at The Orange Tree in Notts too, where you'll get cheap drinks offers upon show off the Xynthetic stamp on your hand, so you've got no excuse to not come and make a night of it!

All in all we're really excited about it so put the date in your diaries (Friday 21st March 6 - 10pm) and hope to see you there!

Carbon & Chemicals in Middlesbrough

The first Xynthetic Carbon & Chemicals show in Middlesbrough went off without a hitch and we were all so pleased with how it turned out, especially how the artwork looked on the walls of the Kitchen Gallery!

You can see all our digital snaps from that night and the hanging before hand @ flickr.com/groups/xyncarbonchemicals/pool/

xyncandcsnaps

The show's only up for another week so check it out if you can, if not, wait and see it in Nottingham & Bristol where they'll be more new work added!

Xynthetic Carbon & Chemicals exhibitions

Been super busy preparing everything for the 3 upcoming Xynthetic 'Carbon & Chemicals' art exhibitions happening in Middlesbrough, Nottingham then Bristol!

The first show is coming up in just 3 weeks time, on Friday 1st February at the Kitch-en Gallery in Middlesbrough!

carbonchemicals

The show is going to be a low-fi exhibition of hand-painted skateboards and screen prints accompanied by lomo photography, showing the process behind each piece and the exhibition as a whole.

It'll feature work from Xyn family members Klingatron, Richt, WASTE + Paul Harraway, Mr Jago, Danny Wainwright, Orco, Pone, Laura Thorne, Lee Page, Sarah Laughton & myself!

Carbon & Chemicals is a 'mini arts tour' so if you can't catch the show in Middlesbrough then maybe you can make Nottingham or Bristol!

For more info on dates and to see the flyers, check out www.xynthetic.co.uk/?p=132 and stay tuned to the Xynthetic website for more info!

Lennon the Lefty

This is my customization of Hicalories 'Lefty' Vinyl Toy, which was launched in the UK at the Bohdi Gallery with a show to go along with it!

A big bunch of artists were kindly invited to customize one for the show and I'm very proud to say that I was one of them!

This was a combination of drilling lots and lots of indents in him, covering him in metallic red enamel paint, adding a splash of green enamel to the top and finishing him off with an acrylic face!

lefty

Big thanks to Alex and you can check out what the original Lefty looks like by going here!

We're going to have a show of hand-painted skateboards and screen-prints accompanied by Lomo photography that's going to be visiting 3 different galleries around the UK!

We're going to be exhibiting at the Kitch-en Gallery in Middlesbrough first, The Art Organization in Nottingham second and then finishing up in Bristol at the Workshop Store. Each gallery will have it's own opening night, with pretty much all the Xyn artists there themselves and they'll be music, drinks and muchos visual delights to take in so make sure you come and check it out!

All the details and more will be on the Xynthetic website, which you can keep your eyes on @ www.xynthetic.co.uk

CrazyLabel booth

Being part of the Crazylabel family is obviously super cool as is, but when Andy from CL asked if he could use my 'illy' graphic to use as a window display for his new studio, I was stoked!

I tweaked it abit for him, swapping a few bits for some CrazyLabel love but was super surprised and pleased to learn that he used that graphic to decorate his booth at the Taiwan Toy Festival!!!

crazylabelbooth

Stoked! Thanks Andy!
