What a night! This Thursday just gone saw the Shaun in the City charity auction take place right here in Bristol, where all 120 Shaun sculptures were auctioned off to raise money for sick children.
All in all, in 4 wonderful hours, the sculptures raised a whopping amount for charity...
Yeap! That's right, we raised OVER ONE MILLION POUNDS! £1,087,900 to be exact! How incredible is that!?
I'm very proud to say that my three sculptures contributed £20,000 to that total! Twenty Thousand Pounds! Flippin heck, that blows my tiny mind!
I was lucky enough to be involved not just as an artist - I got to help out my friends at The Grand Appeal charity by designing and building the slideshow for the evening, displayed on the 3 huge screens behind Tim Wonnacott. I also got to design the totaliser which the lovely Ben Reid built, and then I had the responsibility of running the live stream, so people around the world could watch. Luckily, that all went without a hitch! (and you can even re-watch it right here).
It's always a such a huge pleasure working with such honest, hardworking, dedicated and focused people, all doing their best work for the greatest cause. I'm so so pleased it raised so much money to help sick children, what a wonderful thing.
To finish off, here's a little film that Jonny, Michael, Josh & myself made - my process of making 'Bahhbersheep', I hope you like:
